In order to lose weight it is helpful to know what you are consuming. Keeping a record of food consumption at least for the first couple weeks, and comparing it to weight gain/loss, is a good way of tracking your progress.
Monitoring your food consumption acts as a reference point so that you may make adjustments to your diet in order to keep losing weight.
You can use an app called “myfitnesspal” to record calories or you could eyeball it by using approximate portions sizes. You can also weigh your food if you really want to be exact.
